Eighty years ago, the first coffee trees in the state of Veracruz were planted by Don Antonio Rincon and Doña Lucia Garcia. The story of the Rincon family really took off in 1970, thanks to a division of the family estate for the sake of peace and better organization. But the real game-changer was Emmanuel Rincon, who turned the processing methods upside down. Instead of sticking to the old ways, he focused on bold fermentation experiments and exchanging knowledge with producers from all over the world. In 2018, Emmanuel joined forces with Andreas—the man whose hand I shook in 2022 when he was showing me around the farms in Mexico. With Exportadora de Café California, they took things to a pro level, combining the quest for top-tier quality with a focus on the ecosystem and soil
