About
Weekenders Coffee is a Kyoto-based specialty coffee roaster and cafe founded in 2005 by Masahiro and Ayumi Kaneko near Demachiyanagi. The roastery began small-batch roasting in 2011, influenced by European third-wave roasters. The Tominokoji cafe (opened 2016 in a renovated machiya townhouse) permanently closed in April 2026 and is relocating. A second roastery location opened in 2019 and operates exclusively on weekends.
