About
Black-owned specialty coffee roaster founded in 2014 by artist and entrepreneur Keba Konte in Oakland's Fruitvale District. Red Bay sources direct-trade arabica from partners including Sweet Unity Farms (Tanzania), CENCOIC (Colombia), and smallholder cooperatives across Latin America and Africa. The company operates five Bay Area cafes (Oakland Fruitvale roastery-cafe, Grand Lake, Berkeley, San Francisco Ferry Building, and 220 Montgomery St SF) and ships nationwide. Red Bay is B Corp certified and a multiple-time Golden Bean North America medalist, with equity, inclusion, and community at the centre of its mission.
