About

Hoppenworth & Ploch is a specialty coffee roastery founded in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Matthias Hoppenworth and Julian Ploch first opened a cafe on a university campus in 2008 and launched the roastery in 2014. Since 2019 they roast on a Giesen W30A in a dedicated roastery in the Sachsenhausen district, led by Kilian Seger, German Roastmaster of 2018. They focus primarily on light roasts to express origin complexity, while also offering some darker specialty options. The company supplies their own cafes as well as wholesale and office clients across Frankfurt.
