Chromatic Coffee

Chromatic Coffee is an independent specialty roaster and cafe founded in 2012 in San Jose, California, by Hiver van Geenhoven and a group of collaborators. Operating from a roastery cafe at 460 Lincoln Avenue in the Arts Mercantile Building, they roast to order and distribute across the Bay Area and Pacific Northwest. The roasting approach leans light, emphasizing natural complexity in each cultivar. The sourcing program prioritizes producer-direct relationships in Central and South America, Yemen, Ethiopia, and Rwanda, with a focus on micro-lots, novel varieties, and experimental processing methods. The roastery has been open to visitors since October 2019.
