About this lot
Finca El Jardin sits on the Fraijanes plateau, near the Pacaya volcano, whose ash still feeds the soil with minerals. The del Cid family has been here for over a century — it all started in 1918, when Pablo's great-grandfather bought the land. When coffee prices dropped, many neighbours replaced their trees with avocados. Pablo decided otherwise — he began harvesting only fully ripe cherries, built drying greenhouses, and introduced new processing methods. While studying in Sweden, Pablo met Eva from Lithuania. Together they returned to Guatemala and took over Finca El Jardin. In 2024 their work was recognised internationally — at their first Cup of Excellence, they earned 3rd place in the One of a Kind category, with a score of 89.23 points.
