About this lot
Baroida Estate is located in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, in the Kainantu region. The farm was established in the 1960s by Ben Colbran, one of the first to cultivate coffee in these valleys. The estate takes its name from a local legend — the Baroida spirit, believed to reside in a large river stone and to protect the farm from flooding. The plantations sit between 1,700 and 1,850 meters above sea level. The Colbran family cultivates Arusha, Bourbon, Mundo Novo, and Typica varieties, with a clear focus on producing high-quality microlots. In the cup: syrupy and full-bodied, with deep, structured complexity. Sweet notes of black cherry, cola, licorice, cacao nibs, and white pepper carry through the finish.
