ORIGIN Amongst neighbouring Central American coffee-growing countries like Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala, Honduras exports more volume than any other nation in the region. Coffee cultivation still accounts for a large part of the national export revenue – of which millions directly or indirectly depend on for a livelihood. The country has ideal conditions to produce exceptional coffees due to its high elevations, fertile volcanic soils and ideal climate that is suited to coffee cultivation. Supported by significant investment from the Honduran government through the national body IHCAFE, there is a lot of expertise and heightened awareness of the specialty coffee market in this renowned coffee producing country.
